October 2, 2015 – Sicily Pictures – Taormina and Amphitheater 

Taormina on the Eastern coast of Sicily is part of a group of towns where we spent 4 days. Taormina Giardini Naxus – Naxos was founded by the Greeks in 732BC with expansion up the hill to form Taormina in mid 500BC.

   
    
 
The Amphitheatre started by the Greeks in the 3rd c BC and in use for Gladiatorial encounters in the Roman era is the largest one still in existence.
