The Cathederal in Monreale with attached monastery – built during the reigns of King William I and II of Sicily – c1174 – with 26,000 sq ft of (predominantly gold leaf) mosaics depicting biblical stories. A combination of Byzantuan, Arab, Moore, Christian and Greek Ortodix Styles.
