March 7, 2016 – The Capital of New Zealand – Wellington is a fabulous city.

Early morning entering Wellington Harbour

Westpac Stadium – Rugby and Cricket next to the port and the lumber exports

The Beehive and houses of Parliament

View from the top of Victoria peak – Airport, Harbor and city

The Botanical Gardens – Banana, Heliotrope, Roses and much more. The reddish part at the bottom of the bananas is the flower and a delicacy in Vietnam – Tachy and I ate a lot of it this time last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.

St. Paul’s Old Church

Te Papa museum of New Zealand History – an amazing place.

A Giant Squid above, Weta and Tutara animals below

A Maori Canoe and Meeting place with details

The Treaty of Waitangi between the British and Maori

Lunch on the Waterfront and New Zealand’s flags. The one on the left is the current one, but it is so similar to the Australian (One Star Different) that they propose to change it to the one on the right. A referendum on the matter is coming to a vote very soon.

The South Island of New ealand

Tachy and her friend Linda who came from the South Island to visit her for the day.

As we depart Wellington Harbor, various jet skis came out to the open ocen and were playing in our wake – looked amazing!
