April 18 and 19, 2016 – Dubai, United Arab Emirates – A fantastic time overnight where we breakfasted in the sail building (Burj Al Arab) and had the world cruise formal dinner party at the Armani Hotel in the world’s tallest building Burj Kaalif. Besides a tour of the Palm and city – Great Souk, Bazaar!

Above – the “slit” is a restaurant and below – the “plate” is the helicopter landing place and where Tiger Woods shot a golf ball and Roger Federrer played tennis. We had breakfast on the floor just below the helipad.

Breakfast on the top floor and the view over The Palm – man made islands for residential and hotels to be on the branches of the islands.


You can get an idea of the Palm. The large structure in the rear right is the Atlantis Hotel.

The strange shaped sloping building is Ski Dubai – Indoor snow skiing in the hot desert!!!

We now enter the Marina district, where we boarded a catamaran and sailed all around the Palm and out to see, to get a sea view of Burj Al Arab






I was particularly taken with the spiral building known as Infinity building but I liken it to a DNA structure!!

Burj Khalifa – The tallest building in the world where we had the World Cruise cocktail and Dinner in the Armani Hotel, designed by Giorgio Armani.

The Dubai Museum



Artifacts in the museum depict nomad life and boat building, pearl diving and archaeological finds.

Having crossed the Dubai creek we get to the Souk (Bazaar) of GOld, Spices and a plethora of different items to purchase.
