Friday, January 26, 2019 – Pictures from our second day in Singapore which included China Town with it’s temples, the Singapore Botanical Gardens, Lunch Away from the tourist area with an old Citibank Friend of Anne’s and ending up at the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling! – What a Day!!!

Wandering around Chinatown with the Indian Temple of figures and the streets filled with colour and young children eager to buy sweets! It is coming up for Chinese New Year (the year of the Pig) starting on Feb 4/5/6 for 15 days. Thus the red and gold for prosperity and wealth.
The final picture is the temple of the tooth of the Buddha.
The National Orchid Garden with it’s specialty orchids named for luminaries in Politics, Sports and Entertainment. Truly Spectacular.
Lunch at the Chinese restaurant that Anne’s friend Geok manages.
Ending up the evening at the Long Bar of the Raffles Hotel with Singapore Slings (invented here). The green machine is specifically to shake the Singapore Slings – very tasty! Note also the mechanical fans.
