2019-02-14 – Picture Overview of Trip – Leave Colombo and Fly to New York

Thursday February 14, 2019 – Leave Colombo and Flight home vis Singapore, Frankfurt and New York On Silk Air / Singapore Airlines.

As we end our journey, we say goodbye to the island of Sri Lanka, resolving to return and spend a 2-3 weeks traveling around this fascinating country. We leave the hotel for a 1-hour ride to the airport, arriving 3 hours early for our flight on Silk Air (A subsidiary of Singapore Airlines) to Singapore (4 hours) where we change planes and have a 6 1/2-hour layover.

We then fly from Singapore to Frankfurt (13 hours) on Singapore Airlines for a 2 hour stop before continuing to JFK Airport in New York (9 hours) and home 38 hours after leaving the hotel in Colombo.

Highlights to return to are Myanmar (Bagan, Mandalay & the Irrawaddy River between them) and Sri Lanka (the other UNESCO Heritage Sites) for return Trips. A few last pictures that summarize the amazing trip, in the order we traveled.
