We took the shuttle to Queen Victoria which was berthed nearby, for our 2 month adventure. Getting onto the ship took an inordinate amount of time, but we were soon lunching and unpacking in our Starboard midship cabin 6087 while the Marquard’s did the same in their cabin 7076.

The Captain Tomas Connery welcomes us on board and summons the Life raft exercise. Other key staff – Russell Robson – Deputy Captain; Hotel Manager – James Cusick; Neil Kelly – Entertainment Director. Our Cabin Steward is a Phillippines Lady – Marian and our waiter at table 595 is Edmund (Philippines) and Sommelier Dalia (Lithuania) located at the rear of Britania by the aft windows.

The show this evening were a group of 4 guitarists – West on Sunset – good musicians and vocalists requiring a little extra energy and improved banter.
