Saturday, February 01, 2020 – At sea on route to Santarem, Brazil on the Amazon River.
We attended the Lecture by Claire Balding OBE on “How Sport can Change the World”. An interesting discussion and exposition on how sports can join people and nations together and also to recount stories of her 12 Olympic Games that she has been involved with in her reporting. We decided to skip the other lectures and go to have a nice Ploughman’s Pub lunch with a pint of Guinness. We enjoyed a walk around the deck viewing the scenes on the Amazon riverside. During the afternoon the excellent West End Actor Bruce Morrison presents “Some Enchanted Evening”, – 70 years of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific.
The evening show was a magician Jamie Allen who is the star of the Prime Time Show “The Next Magician” on ITV and the West End show “Impossible”.
