Monday June 24, 2025 – At sea on Route to New York City, USA

If the paper inside the “Hollow Nickel” and thus came the downfall of Rudolph Abel, who on October, 25, 1957 was convicted and sentenced to 30 years in Prison. He was eventually exchanged on February 10, 1962 for the “Weather ‘plane pilot” Francis Gary Powers (actually a CIA owned Lockheed U-2 spy plane flying over USSR) that was shot down and the pilot was held as a spy.

The evening was spent initially at the cocktail party given by the Captain and the “frequent Traveller” group that acknowledged the most frequent travelers on Cunard – Richard & Karen Kearns who have clocked 1,114 days on the Cunard Ships, mostly the Queen Mary II as each year they book the same cabin and table on the ship for 4 months and travel wherever it goes.
The evening entertainment was the sensational Camille Mesnard, originally from a small town in France now living in Paris, did a “life Story” of Edith Piaf, singing many of her songs and sounding just like her. She was truly amazing throughout and brought the full house to a standing ovation at the conclusion of her performance, which is very rare on the ship.
