Friday January 31, 2025 – Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
A lovely day in Cabos. Anne’s sister Martha & her husband Edward live in San Jose del Cabo which is the next town south of Cabo San Lucas, so we had made arrangements to spend the day with them. Martita, very kindly picked us up on the shore after we took the tender (ship’s lifeboat) ashore as there is no pier and all ships stopping here are forced to drop anchor and have guests taken ashore by tender. All very well organized and well executed.

Martita gave us a tour of San Jose del Cabo, then to the public beach beside the lovely One & Only Palmilla Hotel, and then to an open air market and shopping area before going to their beautiful home in Palmilla Estates. We were treated to a nice chat and toasted, with Champagne to both Martita’s and Edward’s upcoming birthdays, as we sat on their covered porch overlooking the (Jack Nicklaus designed) Golf Course. This was followed by a delicious lunch which Martita had made. She then very kindly took us back to the ship in time to take the tender and return to the ship.

The sail-away was spectacular, as was the entry in the morning at dawn. There are a lot of whales and dolphins at this time of year as they use the Sea of Cortes as a place to have their young. So back on the ship we went to the top deck and enjoyed a great view of all the aquatic live as well as all the bay and the famous natural arch where waters from the Pacific Ocean meet the waters of the Sea of Cortes. We were tired so just had a soup and soon to bed.
