Friday February 07, 2025 – At Sea – San Francisco, CA USA to Hawaii, USA
The first lecture was – Gary Fuller talking supposedly about Missionaries in Hawaii. He actually spoke more about the fact that an area of New York State that had been reserved for the Iroquois Nation were taken away and left room for all the different religions to initiate their activities and then they were asked to go to Hawaii to evangelize the population. The locals seeing that the invaders had more impressive technology, like horses, metal knives etc, it was considered that the Gods of the people coming in are more impressive than the ones we have so we should adopt the new religion.
The second lecture was actually an interview by the Entertainment Director – Michael Harvey about the amazingly intelligent and accomplished lady – Sylvia Acevedo that focused a great deal on what she was able to do with the Girl Scouts, specifically about how she was able to work with industry to create new badges and thus more interest for girls to focus their lives in the STEM industries.
The third lecture was – Nichola Gutgold talking about the Original Girl-boss – Queen Elizabeth II. She was born on April 21st 1926 on Burton Street London and died on September 8th, 2022 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She certainly went through her functions and accomplishments as Head of State, Head of the Church and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces over her 70 years in office. She joined the Girl Guides when she was 11, she and her sister Margaret were home schooled, learned to ride a horse (her first was called Peggy) by 1935, had 30 Corgi’s during her lifetime, at 14 in 1940, she made her first radio broadcast on the BBC, joined the Women’s Army Auxiliary driving an ambulance and learned to be an auto mechanic during the Second World War, made her first speech to the commonwealth at 21 from Cape Town, South Africa, married Price Philip on November 20th, 1947, and became Queen in 1952 with the official coronation being on June 2nd, 1953. As a mother, she had 4 children – Charles (1948); Anne (1950); Andrew (1960) and Edward (1964).
Over her time on the throne she appointed 15 Prime Ministers from Winston Churchill to Liz Truss in 2022 a day or so prior to her death.
The showtime – Tara Rachelle flute virtuoso. The Canadian redhead, is a brilliant flute player and played Jazz, Gershwin, Classic and other music as well as various flutes.
